Lots of Random

I'm pretty beat today because I didn't get to sleep until well after one am this morning and had to be at Belmont at 7:30. I still don't have a parking pass but alas, I can handle paying for the garage by the stadium for a few days. I'm at Burnett now and for the millionth time tonight was proven correct in my line of thinking that I have the sweetest, most thoughtful boyfriend in the world. He came all the way over here just for me to help me out because I couldn't leave work and ran a quick errand for me to the Union.

For those of you who read the first post on this subject of The One, you're going to think I am crazy. In fact, JohnRoss has already said I am crazy but that's okay. Brittany decided that, if it was anyone else talking about this the way I have been lately it would be crazy but because it's me, she pretty much expects nothing less. My mom didn't seem too phased by my statements about The One, but after the fiasco that was 'Adam', I'm pretty sure she'd be game for just about anyone else besides him. Thus, I will restate my earlier sentiment: when you have found the person you're supposed to be with, you just know and there is no point delaying the inevitable and you might as well talk about it with your significant other if you feel the same way about the subject. I'm not saying I'm getting married tomorrow; that won't happen for another couple years. All I'm saying is I found a very pretty ring that Brittany said, and I quote, "On anyone else that would be too much bling, but on you it looks perfect." And this doesn't mean anything, it's just really pretty and I have to show it off to the world. Except it's prettier in person so if you ever want to take a field trip to the mall, just let me know. Now, Drake says I'm just going to want something else later on so there's no reason for him to see this one on my finger right now. But secretly I think he's dying to know what it looks like because let's face it, diamonds look gooooood on me. But he's right, I will probably change my mind eventually, however the cut and color will be constants: princess cut (would you expect anything else) and white gold. I think it looks classier, especially in this setting.

I like diamonds.

And rings.

I might as well have two of my favorite things in one place, on my hand.

Popcap.com is my savior. Right now I don't have any course work to do, mostly because I'm not taking any courses (and did I ever really do my homework anyway?) Burnett is the perfect job because I can feel somewhat here and get paid for it. However, with the lack of lesson plans to create right now, I have been playing all the fun and frustrating games at Popcap because it's pretty sweet.

I bought season one of Laguna Beach and when I watched it, it made me miss that cast that much more. This season just isn't the same, even though LC, Lo, and Stephen make occasional appearances. Britt and I are pretty upset with Stephen right now though because of the Valentine's Day bullshit he pulled with LC. I don't know when he will get it through his thick head that Kristin is a dumb bitch and he is better off with LC than Kristin. Ah well, it's good to have one show you invest yourself in, just don't do it too often.

Speaking of television shows, I found something else I can count down to since Teetz's birthday has come and gone (and he is on his way to becoming just like Chaz) and I like to count down to stuff:

THE COMPLETE SERIES OF FRIENDS COMES OUT NOVEMBER 15TH AND I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Days until I am done watching FRIENDS reruns on tv: 75

Maybe this count down is too long. Oh well, can't stop now. As with previous countdowns, the day I post and the actual day of the event are not counted in the grand total. SEVENTY FIVE DAYS I THINK I AM GOING TO DIE. Some people were bitching on Amazon.com about how there is nothing extra in the complete set so they are pissed about it, but hello! Plenty of fans have held off wasting money with buying them one at a time, just so we could spend it all at once and be done. I'd rather drop the $209.00 that Amazon is offering with pre-ordering than having spent anywhere from $29-$44 at a time on an individual season. It ends up saving some money at least, and who doesn't like to save money? I don't like to really, unless I want something real bad. I usually have to have a goal in order to be able to save money and FRIENDS is a pretty worthy goal.

The One

I was watching Ever After the other night - one of my favorite movies - and I always thought the lines exchanged between Prince Henry and Leonardo da Vinci were interesting:

Henry: Do you really think there is only one perfect mate?

Leonardo da Vinci: As a matter of fact, I do.

Henry: Well then how can you be certain to find them? And if you do finally find them, are they really the one for you or do you only think they are? And what happens if the person you're supposed to be with never appears, or she does, but you're too distracted to notice?

Leonardo da Vinci: You learn to pay attention.

Henry: Then let's say God puts two people on Earth and they are lucky enough to find one another. But one of them gets hit by lightning. Well then what? Is that it? Or, perchance, you meet someone new and marry all over again. Is that the lady you're supposed to be with or was it the first? And if so, when the two of them were walking side by side were they both the one for you and you just happened to meet the first one first or was the second one supposed to be first? And is everything just chance or are some things meant to be?

I know time and again a lot has been written and said about the subject of The One. because how do you ever really know? Or what if you're so scared you'll never find The One that you settle for the first person who comes along and end up miserable for the rest of your life? I wonder how many people that has happened to. I don't think anyone has got it all figured out yet, and I certainly do not, nor do I think anyone ever will. Personally, I believe The One exists for every single person on this planet, and I think that the passage of time in the relationship doesn't matter, you can be together a month or a year and you know if the person you are with is The One or not. I don't know why you would stay with someone for a year if they were not The One, but whatever. Some people just aren't ready for grown-up relationships and that's fine too. That was not intended to be a jab at Adam in anyway, but honestly after everything we went through, he just wasn't ready for the intensity that came with our relationship. I think with him I really, really wanted him to be The One, but deep down I knew it just wasn't happening and he really wasn't meant for me. That doesn't mean we will ever stop loving each other, but the love is changing now that we have both found the relationships we were meant to be in. Well, I have at least, I know he can do better than Ashley, he can do waaaaaay better. I will even help him find someone better than her, gross. This rant doesn't have entirely to do with my current relationship situation either, it is just something some people and I were talking about at work the other day in addition to me watching the movie. I do, however, know that I am butt-crazy in love with Drake and can definitely admit it any time, any where. At this point however, that is all I am willing to admit on my blog, because after all, Blogs Are Lame. I was just wondering what other people thought of this subject because I know there are definitely many varying viewpoints.
